So my theory is to buy a FM-Modulator and hook my Sirius receiver through the car radio antenna connection behind the radio so that I can use the Rear Aux/Ipod and the Sirius in tandem. Since the rear Aux will eventually be used by the VIM/Ipod, I will not be able to use the front Aux anymore solely for my Sirius (to my knowledge, you cannot use both inputs at once). If I got the "retro-fit" I would have to buy a separate GM Sirius receiver to go in the trunk since my '08 G8GT is not "XM Ready” (if you’re not a Siruis/XM subscriber, it is very inconvenient having multiple Radios since each radio you own, you have to pay for a separate subscription, aka more $$$). I also do not want to have my stock head unit "retro-fitted" for Sirius/XM because I take my Sirius radio with me in my other vehicles and into my house. I would like to remove the Sirius radio from the front aux for cosmetic purposes. I plan on eventually getting the VIM unlock and using the rear aux with RCA cables to run an Ipod touch on the front LCD screen (and possibly later on, a backup camera). I currently have an aftermarket Sirius Starmate in the front aux port. I have a scenario and a couple of questions. You will need your radio reprogrammed for the XM interface. The Factory XM antenna connector is located behind the right rear seat along with the other connections for a factory XM radio if you wish to install it. This will obviously also work for the premium sound system. My radio is a base single CD (no screen) model. The 3.5mm cable gives you both connection styles depending on your application. My aftermarket Sirius antenna is gone as well, I am now using my factory XM antenna. No more cable plugged into the front of my radio. Then I activated the rear aux feature in the radio menu. I made up this cable, plugged it into the Rear Aux male connector located just below the speaker wire connections on the right side of the radio and the other end to my Sirius radio. I finally figured out the rear aux audio connection.
